My name is Marlenne Lizardo, and I am the therapist and owner behind Sale El Sol Counseling, PLLC, a practice I built from the ground up in 2024, with Hispanic women and families in mind. As a Hispanic therapist, a daughter of immigrants, and a woman living with a physical disability, I understand what it means to navigate systems, expectations, and identities that are often overlooked or misunderstood. My goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and supported in a space that honors your culture, your identity, and your lived experiences—a space where you can show up fully as yourself and be met with understanding, respect, and care.

I bring three years of experience working with individuals facing diverse and complex mental health concerns in non-profit mental health agencies, private and group practices, which allows me to meet you where you are with both clinical skill and genuine understanding. Currently, I work with Spanish-speaking and Hispanic women and couples who are navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and relationship changes or challenges. Together, we make space for the real conversations—the anxiety, the guilt, the identity shifts, the relationship strain—and we turn them into opportunities for healing, growth, and empowerment.

My advocacy work focuses on increasing access to culturally responsive and inclusive mental health care, reducing stigma around mental health, and amplifying the voices of Hispanic women, mothers, and individuals who do not feel like themselves. I am passionate about breaking down barriers to care and ensuring that no one feels unseen or unsupported during one of the most vulnerable seasons of their life.

I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2023. I am currently an LPC Associate supervised by Cristal Acosta, LPC-S. I am trained in perinatal mental health and am currently pursuing the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.

My work is grounded in a deeply relational, integrative approach that honors the complexity of each client’s experience. I draw from evidence-based modalities while remaining attentive to the emotional, cultural, and interpersonal dimensions of healing. My approach integrates attachment-based, cognitive behavioral, compassion-focused, and mindfulness-based perspectives to support women and couples navigating pregnancy, postpartum emotional challenges, and the transition to parenthood. I also incorporate strengths-based and emotionally focused principles to help clients build resilience and deepen connection within their relationships. For clients who wish to incorporate spirituality into their care, I also offer faith-integrated counseling within a respectful and client-led framework.
